Hi Peak flies the flag for organic at RABDF’s Dairy-Tech day

Hi Peak Feeds – the UK’s only 100% organic feed mill which serves the whole of the UK – is once again ensuring the organic dairy flag flies high and proud at the RABDF’s second Dairy-Tech show in February by sponsoring an organic discussion session at the event’s Dairy Hub for the second year running.
The session will be the first debate of the day and is expected to draw a large audience. This year, the session will focus on “The opportunities and challenges facing organic dairying”. It will feature three eminent speakers from different areas of the industry: Ian Potter, an industry commentator who also has an interest in an organic farm; Wil Armitage, one of the UK’s leading organic dairy farmers; and Richard Clothier, managing director of Wyke Farms, which has recently set up The British Organic Dairy Company in conjunction with OMSCo.
Each will consider risk mitigation from their own perspective. The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session, chaired by dairy journalist, Chris Walkland. “Last year’s session was extremely informative, and I am sure 2019’s will be equally so,” says Rob Daykin, ruminant manager of Hi Peak Feeds, which is owned by Devenish Nutrition. “Our objective in running the discussion is to make sure organic dairying is represented at Dairy-Tech, and to try and help move the organic category as a whole forward in some small way,” he adds. “There are some important and exciting developments and opportunities for the sector and the show is a great opportunity to explore those and to learn more about them,” he adds. “I am delighted to once again help facilitate these discussions at the event and look forward to welcoming everyone to the forum.” The organic debate will be held in the Dairy Hub area in the centre of the show in Hall 2 and will start at 9:30 am sharp. Hi Peak will also be hosting an organic lunch on their stand (Hall 2, stand B59) from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm.
